Pros
Some skilled, talented and caring people in the workforce. Advantageous market position. Lots of opportunity to bring about positive change in tech and processes.
Cons
Some, not all, key Sr Leaders do not listen and are disconnected from those on the floor getting the job done. Unable to bring about willing change. Multiple key internal initiatives were multi-year efforts, each with millions invested yet still had no traction. Each was achievable, the floor wanted help, but initiatives were unsuccessful, resulted in extra cost and some were rolled back. Executive ended up telling everyone you will do this or else, of course they got blank stares and a room full of silence. Leadership? Those Sr Leaders responsible were not held accountable and just shuffled internally. Everything took longer there. One person won a year end leadership award for promoting purposeful change on the basis of their working overtime. Lots of people worked overtime, is that a sign of success or capable leadership. Why select one person. This is one example of their understanding of leadership when I worked there. Could go on and on. Can deliver great products but can't get adoption in the marketplace.
