Pros

Industry average pay, company vehicle helps save on gas

Cons

Although the pay is close to industry average the company is making a gigantic shift to lower it, and even worse get more out of the tech for it. Anybody with experience in residential pest control knows what extra service s are (free follow up service) and at Terminix the tech does not get paid a dime for them, customer calls the day after you do a service for same service to be done again you will be back out their for free. Crucial side note is not a single tech would mind if they were legitimately needed, but that's rarely the case. It's simply a matter of company doesn't pay for you to go back so why not send you, yes even if theirs 5 a day that have no real issues you will spend an extra 3-4 hours doing free work that day. Along the same lines in the summer on saturday out of 4-5 techs they will each have 7-8 extras as majority of their day. Company calls it service blitz (yes seriously). If workers call off because they are not interested in working a 10-12hour day for $50, and being told look at the bigger picture, they get written up. As side note they ended the coined name for it but they keep doing it anyways... Majority of guys here were told won't work weekends at all, and promised or guaranteed anything and everything in the interview but that stuff is forgotten 2 weeks in. You will be given a reason they need you to do something nobody would want to do regardless of any promises or prior discussion. Lots of days you work from 7am-7pm(even in 2018 still have to fight off 7-9pm window service) but the work you get paid for out of those hours would amount to 4-5 hours of pad work. As techs that work off of 16-17% commission that can be very frustrating. You may be able to get the work done sooner with all customers happy, but one customer requesting an extra, can reserve a 5-7pm window for when their off work and you will have to stay out till 7 to get it done. Again extend day by several hours for no difference in pay. I will say I have been in this business for over 15years and know techs at every major company out their. This place takes the cake on what they'll make you do for the industry average pay. It never fails though they will tell a guy in interview or beginning hell be treated good, blah blah blah and the techs go for it and end up leaving like theirs a revolving door. Work life balance deserve s a score of a negative 2

Pros

Good pay, independence, benefits. Cons overshadow pros though.

Cons

High stress, disorganized, high turnover, management and hr go behind your back and get in your personal business. Customers can give you the worst time of your life on the job. No respect in this business to the technicians. If your a service manager your phone will be ringing off the hook till the middle of the night and you will get beat up about everything you do, no matter how great a job you do. Branch managers make the service managers do everything. Not enough training, will throw you to the wolves. You go on vacation, they are still calling you phone to come into work. Very unethical company. You call HR or ethics your more likely to get fired than helped. They give you a work phone, that's great but beware the customer service line/customers calling you on your days off and at night when your already in bed! Trucks they give you breakdown and are in the worst shape with high miles. Working here can be a hot mess.

Pros

I cant think of too many pros. Probably having a company car could be a pro but their payscale makes you pay big for their base model ford focus

Cons

Working 6 days a week even though in the interview i was told only 1 Saturday a month. Must sell $20k of business before you start making commission. A lot cold calling and call sessions even though I was told there was no cold calling required in the interview. Too many ways the company can mess with your pay. This has been the worst job I have ever had. Run away. Their turnover rate is 100%
