Pros

Work with good people sometimes.

Cons

Do not have preset appoints They will tell you that you will not have to door knock and you will. Senior Sales reps get all good leads and you are left holding the bag. No Lead Help.

Pros

401k that's about it, really (this made me type 5 words)

Cons

They demand growth without structure, managers on call at all times, unobtainable bonuses, terribly unorganized company.

Pros

Most of the time is spent in the field, away from a desk. Sales were ok during peak termite season.

Cons

Getting as much of the customer's money as possible is the prime motivation at Terminix. The upper echelon can preach all they want about employees working with strong ethical behavior and superior customer service, but it's contradictory to what happens on a daily basis. There are many blind eyes being turned by mgt. I left because I started to get the sense that Terminix operates to intentionally baffle its customers. Each local branch operates somewhat autonomously (i.e. manages their own budget, expenses, etc) and therefore branch managers are each unique. My mgrs were decent. And I can't imagine some of the nonsense they had to contend with from their superiors. More of the problem I had was with the culture of taking the money and running. Services that I sold as a sales rep (aka "inspector") were not followed through by the service dept to the least degree. There was always a push to buddy up with the service techs to generate more sales from "their" customers (by tagging along on calls), but most of the time those techs didn't want the sales guys botching up the relationships they had already established. A total debacle! I don't understand how this company manages to stay afloat. It's been hiding behind forced arbitration for eternity, but with the internet, there are thousands of Terminix horror stories to read upon.
