      Pros

      Helped me to become familiar with the dealing with clients, budgets, and deadlines in the workplace. They were very flexible with my schedule and allowed me to come in whenever I had time before, after, and in between classes. Very good people to work with. There is a huge emphasis on safety throughout the company. The management stresses safety at home as well.

      Cons

      My particular office is rather small and sometimes the volume of work is overwhelming. As a part-time employee, I am not eligible for benefits or bonuses.

      Pros

      Some offices are good to work for, some are abysmal. If an engineer manages the place, then numbers will dictate policy and common sense will be an afterthought. Benefits were good in 2009 but eroded through the years and by 2013 were fairly expensive.

      Cons

      Terrible work/life balance. Consider yourself "on-call" if you're a field technician. I received calls as late as 1100pm stating that the next days 7:00am pour had been moved up to 3:00am. In the winter, you will be expected to come into work to see if there is work, rather then simply calling in and saving yourself the commute. Field equipment has lagged behind other companies. Company policy of using 2wd work trucks means you will be going onto icy roads and muddy jobsites with marginal ability to get around. And salaries have lagged behind industry averages for years.
