      Pros

      Terracon is a good place to work. Interesting assignments and projects. Good benefits. Employee owned. Good career advancement for those willing to take on the challenges They keep growing. Know how to make a profit. Bonuses and pay are pretty good. Lot more pros at this company than cons.

      Cons

      Deadlines and project workload sometimes means too much work time and not enough play time. This usually happens during the summer months when I want to be playing more and working less.

      The good ole' boy system dictates company hierarchy. A few higher ups ride on the backs of those who do actual work.

      Pros

      If you are a work-a-holic, never want to see family or friends and love to work 70+ hours a week without compensation for overtime, then this is the job for you.

      Cons

      No overtime compensation for salaried employees. Untrustworthy management. Understaffed. Unqualified. Company motto is get the job then figure out how to do the work. Horrific place to work. "Principals" have all out of pocket medical expenses paid, their kid's college tuition paid, their vacations are paid (not paid time off, their hotel, airfare, meals, etc. are paid by the company). If you can move up to principal, you can reap these benfits at the expense of the rest of the over-worked, underpaid employee's slaving away. As a licensed Professional Engineer, I couldn't even get the company to spring for an up to date desktop, let alone a laptop to complete my work. The company overworks staff in a thriving office to offset losses in failing markets. This company is a JOKE. If you don't have an "in", you will get screwed here.
