IS Department has the worst culture

Pros

There are genuinely good people in non leadership positions to work with & knowing that you work for an organization that does so much for families in need is a great feeling.

Cons

The culture & leadership from the CIO through the executive chain is the worse than I've ever experienced within an IS organization at any level. Low quality of life, poor communication, inconsistent direction & turning teams against one another are just a few of the low class leadership qualities nurtured throughout; this is evident in their high turnover of FTEs.

Pros

Great organization, with a great mission. Probably one of the greatest strengths of TCH is also the achilles heal. The CEO is awesome, probably the best that I have seen. However it doesn't seem to be much depth below him in terms of a succession plan. Other executives in the organization are not ready to lead this great institution. Probably not a wise move to put all your eggs in one basket, and build an entire organization around one man.

Cons

Executive management not willing to change, and any changes that you try to make will always encounter road blocks which make it impossible to make any changes for the good of the organization.

Pros

Working with and for the children is an awesome experience.

Cons

If you were not part of the "click" within this department, there was little chance that you are given an opportunity to advance. You are only given an opportunity when you kiss butt and that's not what it should be about. Very high turnover within this department and poor management within the QOM Dept.
