One of the leaders in the nation for infant and pediatric care Seemingly endless funding for technology projects

Cons

Lacking cooperation within the team of the IS department More focus on self preservation than achieving results as a team Overwhelming governance and meetings overshadows actual work product

Pros

the mission of caring for sick kids cannot be beat, and people are dedicated to the mission

Cons

Senior leadership is ineffective, with leadership maxims that are warmed-over platitudes. No ability to strategize, prioritize and lead by goals. Everything is overly personalized and politicized. Rampant nepotism and cronyism abound. Favorites (at all levels) are not held accountable, and more emphasis is placed on the appearance of being busy than focusing on organizational goals. A real travesty to see the gap between what is and what could be. Hiding behind the mission ("we're doing GOD's work") doesn't excuse the real lack of leadership and accountability. So sad

Pros

Parking. Basically free to have a baby at the Pavilion for Women. If you work hard people notice and you will move up.

Cons

No family work balance. Over worked and not compensated for doing double work. Favoritism and lots of gossip like you're in high school. VPs talk about the culture and family work balance, but I don't think they really know what's going on.
