Pros

If you want to just come to work and do a job until you retire this is the place for you. Software development is secondary to any Engineering or Manufacturing so innovation turns really slowly in the Applications/Automations develop areas. If your halfway good this is a really easy gig that you can probably do in 8 hours a week of work and surf the net for the rest of the week (sans meetings).

Cons

Work with proprietary frameworks that no one ont the planet other than TI employees have heard of. Coding standards are non-existent. No one has heard the terms of Technical Debt, factory pattern, or IOC. Low pay compared to market. Much of the commodity IT is being moved over seas so you need to stay up nights talking with them on the phone since they can't work during our hours.

Pros

Open door policy which is good for learning. Good compensation compared to others in the area. Lots of opportunity to learn and contribute. Moderate to high work pressure however it is not hard to have a work-life balance here.

Cons

Lacks environment to support growth for personnel and partiality and politics is prevalent. Lacks fair growth programs and management participation is low in them. Marred by age old mentality as being an old company and upper level management is resistant to change. Division among various engineering roles lead to friction in team mostly due to lack of respect for other roles. While it seems that being a large company gives more avenues to grow however it is hard to find and materialize a fresh chance. Operating efficiency is on the lower side.
