Good Place to Kill a Marketing Career

Pros

Good salary and benefits.

Cons

TI is an engineering company. If you are a marketer, look elsewhere. TI doesn't hold anyone in high regard unless they have a EE degree and are a white male under 40. Also, if you work outside of the corporate office in Dallas, there's little to no opportunity for advancement, especially in a marketing role. Networking does not help.

Pros

15 + Years of constant salary 401k match Health benefits Employee Stock Purchase Plan Great company to gain experience Many opportunities to advance early in your career.

Cons

To reduce costs experienced engineers/managers are being replaced by Jr managers and new college hires. Many opportunities for younger engineers and managers to advance. However salary and career advancement seems to stagnate between age 35 and 40 for most. Jr Managers lack of experience leads to miss management of resources and poor product development.
