1. Management detatched from reality - work performed is never enough (some direct personnel have used phone apps to measure distance walked over the course of one shift and distances have been repeatedly >10 miles over 11.5 hours (how far can you walk day in, day out?) 2. Lean manufacturing principles conflict with quality goals (watch 'I love Lucy Candy Factory Video' on youtube as an example) 3. Physically and mentally demanding with poor reward and recognition for outstanding performance 4. For majority, pay not commensurate with demands of job
