Following rules are more important than getting a job done.

Pros

Benefits are okay, but not great.

Cons

Office politics are more important than work. A lot of people doing nothing and not qualified for the job they are assigned. Management has very little integrity and can't be trusted.

Pros

The culture has improved over the last few years. The new Executive Administrator and upper management are more engaged. There are a lot of wellness and employee engagement activities. Pay is good also with lots of paid time off. Way better than the private sectors crazy hours. Free health insurance and great retirement plans and benefits.

Cons

Currently under a hiring freeze, but it's outside the agencies control. All state agencies are dealing with this. The finance department needs to improve the budget plan and educate management on how to utilize their fundings. It's very confusing.
