It doesn't feel like a big company.

Cons

The parent company is taking away alot of the independance and small feel of the company.

Pros

The best reason to work for Cessna is the atmosphere. We have a culture where we try to "do what is right for the airplane." Compared to other companies there is less BS. Cessnans strongly identify with the company. The fact that there is even a term Cessnans should tell you that.

Cons

Working for our parent corporation Textron. Textron does not have the same kind of culture as Cessna. That makes it a very strained relationship. They don't do what is right for the Customers, the Employees or the airplane..... they only do what is right for the bottom line. There is not a term for the people that work for Textron.

Pros

That's a tough one right now because we are laying off people and it's not always done in a fair mannor. Right now it's not clear who is running quality the VP says one thing about layoff and HR does another thing. It's supposed to be based on performance. In the past when things are good Cessna is a good place to work, but when the economy starts turning bad everything changes. Its everyone for themselves because of lay offs. Some departments keep employees up dated on communications, but some really don't.

Cons

Alot of buddy buddy type activities still run the place.
