Pros

The work-life balance is great. The work is challenging and stimulating. There is no micro-managing employees of employees.

Cons

No complaints! No company is perfect. If there is an issue that needs to be resolved management makes it a priority to address and correct.

Pros

There are no good reasons to work at Insgroup. After one owner passed away the company has gone down.

Cons

Upper management (unnamed person) will kick you when your down. When you are sick, dying, old, young, pregnant. Anything! Said person doesn’t care. All that said person cares about is lining own pockets. This said person is a bully and takes from producers. Very disrespectful, pretentious, greedy.. Said person will demote you and cut your pay and give no warning and give no explanation. Said person accuses others for own failures. No family values! Will bully and intimidate so you don’t take action. They make empty promises. Upper management put in charge gossips and spreads rumors. Tells private information including salary to other employees. Major lawsuits waiting to happen!This company only hurts your resume. RUN!

Apparently this agency can’t handle constructive criticism. Any review that exerts “negativity” (or better described as the truth) gets removed from this site and gets replaced with reviews that are just not reality. Whenever issues are brought up to management, realistic expectations are never set or the solutions that are suggested are unfeasible. The culture is flawed and there is a major lack of resources especially for young professionals. It is extremely difficult for all colleagues to grow and develop their skill set when they don’t have the tools to do so and are overwhelmed with unmanageable workloads.

As hard as the negative reviews can be to read, we need it. In addition to a world-class brand, we have unprecedented industry growth, particularly in Commercial. We think that in any fast paced and fast growing organization, it can be a challenge to get up to speed quickly, whether the colleague is an industry veteran or just landing their first full-time insurance gig. Regardless of age or experience, the expectations are set from day one that all colleagues must demonstrate attributes such as We Before Me, Accountability and Discernment. They are core to our Azimuth and to our culture. And when we are demonstrating an abundance of Genuineness – doing what we say we will do even when it is difficult, it is perhaps a colleague’s Grit that is most valuable, especially in the early stages of their career at BKS. We each have to lean-in and be accountable for much of our own success – to seek feedback (like this review), to understanding our strengths and our blind spots and to commitment to continuous improvement as an individual, as a member of the team and as an organization. We know that often times the tenets of our Azimuth are aspirational. As we 20:20 processes and colleague experiences to identify what is going well and what we could do better for our colleagues, we find that there is a lot of opportunity for improvement, especially as it relates to training. There will likely never be a day when we say it is perfect; in fact, I wouldn’t want to work for an organization that thought it was perfect. We are a band of type-A insurance geeks who push each other to be the best version of ourselves – as a collective, we will always be growing and evolving. Being a trainer off the side of your desk is tough. Coming in as an inexperienced colleague OR as a seasoned colleague and having a lot to learn in a speed-of-light is tough. Fast-paced is TOUGH (but also very exciting!). Tough situations lead to imperfection and sensitivities, that is human nature. Training ourselves to handle these situations with grit and grace is what defines us. The investments we are making in Learning and Development not only focus on technical insurance knowledge or how to write a proper business email. In correlation with our veteran wellness program, we are building up the resources to help colleagues develop in all areas of their life – everything from stress management to emotional intelligence to how to bind a policy under stress. This is what we mean when we talk about Learn, Grow and Thrive. We can’t wait to roll it out in full motion… it is going to be awesome! Our first colleague on the L&D team will be starting at the end of July. We hope this and all the investments we are making to support our colleagues success and satisfaction in their career become evident as we work through these challenging times as a team. To monitor and ensure we are making the right investments and do what is right for our colleagues and clients, we ask for feedback from our colleagues constantly…seriously, the amount of surveys and feedback requests downright annoys some of your peers. But we do it anyway because we care and we want you to share your perceptions, frustrations or fears with us before things get so bad you feel like the culture has failed. One of our findings from last year’s BKS Pulse Survey was that Learning and Development is a gap becoming increasing larger as we grow - significant investments are being made as we build up a team of experts around it. Career pathing is also an initiative fully in motion – the two go hand in hand. We know it is not enough to have a path. We have to give colleagues the time and attention needed to achieve the milestones to develop in their career aspirations. Training and professional development will continue to be a shared responsibility, but we have set out to fulfill our commitment to our colleagues of all ages and experience levels to help them to learn, grow and thrive. We know how slow some things feel when you are moving fast and ask for your patience and thank you for your passion. We are attempting to make steps in the right direction every day and want you to feel empowered to do the same. Keep that feedback coming!
