Pros

Company is heavily focused on sales.

Cons

Company is heavily focused on sales without backing up with the high-level/service product they are selling. They need to focus on service, facilities and what the customer wants; not what the CEO wants to offer.

Pros

You get to use the club facilities The manager is a decent person, but supervises probably 100 part time employees, which is untenable and not fair to them.

Cons

* they let instructors go, some who had worked there since the opening, via email. Not even a call. * demoted everyone before the layoff, so the salary base for unemployement and getting rehired was much 50% of actual salary. * required to work without pay. Teachers are only compensated for class time, not cleaning studios, prepping music, staff meetings, adminstrative work like finding your own subs (the manager won't do it, and you don't get paid for it), time sheets (required to spend time doing it, without pay, even if you otherwise didn't work. * racist and elitist management and clients. The HR person asked me where I was "from from" while checking my USA passport for the I-9. Heard the N-word used twice by two different class attendees. Sense of entitlement among attendees, especially parents of children, is mind boggling. * we had the world's worst manager. luckily they got rid of that person. * Never got a pay raise, review, or 1-on-1 with a manager

The Bay Club Response

Thank you for your review. 2020 was an unexpected year for all of us and we had to make some difficult company decisions while the club services were suspended. We’re disappointed to hear that you feel your experience with us was negative. In regard to your advice to management, Diversity and Inclusion is at the center of our company culture, and we recently launched our Diversity and Inclusion Task Force across our entire company which will continue to teach our associates and members about listening, educating, raising awareness, and taking action. We invite you to email our Chief People Officer, Erin Rucker Oto, at erin.ruckeroto@bayclubs.com to provide additional feedback or to set up a call to discuss your experience.

Pros

Love my coworkers, fun environment

Cons

Low pay, as Bay Club presence increases the environment is really changing in a negative way. They work you until you quit.
