Pros

Free access to facility, conditionally.

Cons

Sales driven company with performance bonuses only offered to Sales Team or at General Manager level and above. All other management levels are simply pawns for this cash grab selling intangible products like happiness and lifestyle. Managers expected to take action and respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Expectation of 60+ hours per week for salaried managers, averaging 10 hours per day in club plus additional time at home. Managers work 6 days a week without appreciation, and treated as if that is not enough by VPs and Executives. Salaried employees get unlimited vacation, however, never allowed to use it and must be responsive while away. Job descriptions are loose, once hired, expected to do everything in a department/multiple departments. Managers forced to absorb workloads of multiple past employees without replacements. All departments are understaffed, difficult to find employees due to low starting pay rates. Benefits non existent. Company pays nothing over state and local requirements in this category while actively mitigating and reducing number of employees who qualify for additional city required benefits. Undervalued wage pay rates. No pay raises given, ever. Inequity amongst leadership / management with advantages given to inexperienced college grads, specifically from Cornell. Newer Cornell recruits paid higher than existing employees for similar roles in various departments and locations across the company. Retention of seasoned employees should be as important as recruiting inexperienced Cornell graduates.
