Pros

live life miserable. how these people get away with how they treat people is surprising, especially in San Francisco where pc culture is prioritized. well, not at the bay club. no growth, no communication, with egomaniacs who run it. I read kkr bought them.apparently they didn't do their research.

Cons

free gym membership but who cares

Pros

There are some amazing people that work at some of the properties, free club membership

Cons

Research any article on toxic work culture and it will sum up the current status of the Bay Club. There is micromanaging to the nth degree, including conference calls 7 days/week. Employees are asked for their honesty and feedback and then publicly shamed and bullied after giving it. Little to no praise for a job well done and more public humiliation for any misstep. They will use the equity "perk" as the reason for why they don't offer 401k match, holiday pay, annual raises, etc. despite only a very small percentage of employees actually being a part of the equity benefit, certainly not the front-line staff that actually make these clubs operate. The CEO works 24/7 and expects that every salaried employee do the same despite preaching about work/life balance. The company has recently made some smart hires from the outside except in the one area it is lacking the most: HR, where the current leadership is homegrown so that the the bullying culture can continue to thrive; there is no HR structure.

Thank you for your feedback about your time with The Bay Club Company. As someone who has worked for the company for over 25 years, I am proud of the supportive work environment that we have created for our associates and I’m sorry to hear that you feel we have missed the mark. While we realize there is always room for improvement, we have worked hard to create a company culture that is founded on both transparency and integrity and I’m sorry that our efforts did not meet your expectations. Should you wish to discuss your feedback further, I can be reached at HR@bayclubs.com. Thank you again for sharing your feedback.

Pros

Bay Club is a beautiful facility that offers a huge schedule of state of the art classes for all levels and demographics. Pay is ok but it never ever goes up, not in years!

Cons

The Bay Club Carmel Valley has merged with a country club, and management has begun treating "associates" like second class people. One of our most enticing benefits has been a membership, but lately we've been cut back with rude notices that say, for example, the pools are only to be used by members on weekends, and "associates" are not members. We used to be members! It's demeaning.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about The Bay Club Company and I’m glad to hear that you have enjoyed working at such a wonderful club. With regards to our policies in the summer, we do ask that associates give members priority when using the lounge areas, but I apologize if communication about these policies came across as anything other than informative. I’d be happy to discuss your feedback and can be reached at hr@bayclubs.com. Thank you again for sharing your review. — Erin Rucker Oto, EVP Human Resources
