Pretty smooth worked in IC. Worth it if you do not mined over nights.

Cons

Tired nights. Have to walk the campus on cold freezing nights most part your are in a unit.

Benefits, reputation and feeling like you make a difference. The people you come in contact with are challenging but the work is rewarding. Opportunities for overtime.

Cons

Feeling overworked, salaries/pay rates aren't great depending on what you ask for.

Thank you for such insightful Pros and Cons. It is definitely true that Youth Leaders have a significant impact on the children in our care. At the end of the day, it really is about helping them build on their strengths and resiliency in ways that will help guide them on a path toward reaching their full potential. Yes, because kids tend to appreciate on unit activities that keep them occupied, staff are highly encouraged to plan and conduct more of these. Some kids say, "The more, the better!"
