Thank you for your years of service and your courage to provide this feedback. Having worked here for some time, you know that our primary goal is to help maltreated and traumatized children, most of whom have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma in one or multiple forms. By virtue of these adverse childhood experiences, these children sometimes lack the fundamental developmental experiences required to express their potential to self-regulate, relate, communicate, and think. They are often undersocialized and at great risk for emotional, behavioral, social, cognitive, and physical health problems. While this is a sad reality, it is the mission of The Buckeye Ranch to raise hope and to provide just such children with another chance and a different path by offering a supportive environment and therapeutic experiences and activities that promote healing and recovery. While this work may not be easy, it is most certainly essential.

Cons

Stressful job; Not high paying, but the benefits were great to make up for that.

It is always nice to hear staff describe our organization, our PEOPLE, our benefits, and our flexibility as great! Is there also stress? With responsibility for providing support to foster youth, their families, and foster caregivers, yes there is some stress. Thank you for taking up the challenge and for having an impact on each of their lives.
