Pros

Great discount, great people to work with.

Cons

Horrible hours. Only one weekend off a month, with shifts often being from 12-10. Very intense sales presentation. Low starting wages, must work very hard to earn well.

Pros

The 40% employee discount they offer

Cons

This is the one and only job I have ever walked out on. I was hired as a "leader" but yet was still being paid under minimum wage as my base. The store I got hired for wasn't even open yet, my first 5 shifts were just preparing and helping set up the store. After working a 12 hour shift on opening day with only ONE break consisting of 30 minutes I had gone home to decide that was my last shift working for Buckle and I would not be returning back in 7 hours for my opening shift like they had scheduled for me. It is absolutely ridiculous what they expect of their employees. You are never aloud to take no for an answer. If a guest says they are "just looking" you are expected to pull product off the nearest table and throw it in their face anyway. For every guest you help you are supposed to go to another leader or a manager and tell them about your customer and everything you showed them so that they can suggest more product to go throw in their face regardless of if their shopping for that product or not. They expect you to carry around a piece of paper in your pocket all day and write down each customers name, sizes, every product you showed them and how successful you were actually getting them to buy the product. I've worked in sales before and was extremely successful but they completely sucked the fun out of this job and made it more complicated to sell due to the level of annoyance you were expected to pursue with each and every customer. It's sad to say that I am not the only person to walk out/quit with in the first 3 days of this store being opened.

Pros

40% Discount Fast Pace mentality When the store and district are being ran right, it’s a wonderful place to work for coming from experience. I loved my job when I first started.

Cons

Some district and area managers need to be weeded through. They do not share the same thoughts as our CEO and VP. They are tired and are just waiting for retirement. Upper management are fake and talk behind your back to management or to other teammate. Store visits have become more of a bash the store and team visit, rather than a development review. Their feedback is always negative, never positive, and always nitpicking at something. I understand, no one is perfect and that there’s always room for improvement, but when all that is being said is negative, it’s kind of exhausting. If they don’t agree with your idea, they shut it down immediately, at least in my district/area. You’re suppose to be able to share insight, but never really happens. Any issues are made into a mountain and they are good at making you want to quit your job, instead of firing you. Issues do not get resolved, just pushed to the back burner, and if you have an issue with any form of the management, good luck trying to voice your concern without extreme repercussions and being deemed as not being a “Team Player” and being put on the CTS (Commitment to Success) which is generally a write-up. When I first started with the company, I loved going to work, but for nearly 2 years, it’s been going drastically downhill. There’s so much more that I could go on about, but I do not want to take up any more time for anyone.
