Pros

Incredible field and management experience. You get far more opportunities to make programmatic decisions than you would get working in a program in the US. The management cares, and you have a good amount of autonomy with the team you are working on.

Cons

The lifestyle is constant work with little time off. The work is incredibly rigorous and there are inherent dangers. Communication with fiends and family is very difficult.
