Pros

Varied and quite interesting population. Terrific co-workers. Brand-new building with plenty of space. Somewhat flexible in terms of scheduling my work hours.

Cons

Rampant greed, stupidity, short-sightedness and cronyism in the administration. Not enough parking, dangerous lack of ice and snow removal during winter months. Lack of training. Lack of understanding of good correctional practice and professional behavior on the part of the higher-ups.

Pros

The nature of the work is interesting, and the good employees are really good. The benefits are excellent.

Cons

Mostly, the staff consists of disgruntled and poorly trained counselors who don't have the money to leave the area and hate their job. The pay is low and employee are lazy and just don't give a hoot. The atmosphere is beyond depressing. They are constantly hiring and must be in the VIP program with the local newspaper want ad section.

A full time job, and at times flexible hours.

Cons

Very questionable management, who treats the employees in a very unprofessional manner. There is no opportunity for growth, and pay increases were never given in the three years that I worked for the company.
