Pros

Lots of good people here.

Cons

Where do I begin. I never imagined I’d leave after 20 plus years but it happened. HIG now loves to take tone deaf micro managers and give them leadership positions. I began to be treated with zero respect for my tenure and experience. Management does not care about you personally as they once did. And yes RTO is huge. But for me I left before that. Writing was on the wall. I was always a top contributor who was valued for my experience. After management shakeup I was just a number. Plus the pay after all that time was absolutely laughable. No room for advancement anymore. The workload was not sustainable whatsoever. Doing the work of 3 people. I would often stay up nights stressing and hating logging on. Leaving was best decision ever. There is life after the Hartford. And a good one at that.

Pros

Great PTO, work/home balance and amazing co-workers. Many internal opportunities for growth.

Cons

The Hartford used to be a great place to work. The leaders used to be great and so was the remote work option. However, The Hartford feels the need to push social issues on its employees instead of letting us just do our job. For majority of my career there the leaders were amazing but then they started promoting people with no leadership or people skills who love to micromanage. Furthermore, they decided that all remote employees (who were remote prior to covid) were required to come in 2 days a week and in 2024 they will require them to come in 3 days a week. Completely pointless since we are all on the phone or focused on our PC's the entire day and rarely have time to chit chat with coworkers. Its all politically motivated!

Pros

Used to be a great environment and culture to work in.

Cons

The leadership has recently made it clear that they are preparing for attrition by cutting benefits, increasing health insurance costs with less coverage per plan, horrible communication to it’s employees, disregarding thousands of employees’ concerns to changes announced. The Executive Leadership’s response to the employees is “we understand that you have to do what is best for you and yours”… so “if you don’t like it, leave.”
