      fun and close to home

      Cons

      total incompetence of supervisors and management. low pay. They are concerned only with the almighty dollar. They give away merchandise to customers who complain thinking that these customers will be loyal. Unfortunately these same customers just tell other people to complain or just return the good s they have been using and they will get thier money back. The management expects you to kiss the customers ---.

      A great support group of associates when experiencing stress on the job. And some stand-out, but few, amazing supervisors.

      Cons

      It is agreed among associates at the Home Depot Canada that there are "too many Chiefs and not enough Indians". They do not have the bodies to fill the sales floor and provide customers with the satisfaction they seek and have seen in popular media advertising. Instead, the many on duty managers and supervisors are too preoccupied by their store phones and blackberries to ease the congestion of customer dissatisfaction.

      Pros

      Opportunities for advancement within the company. I started as a PT cashier and was promoted multiple times to a Specialty Supervisor. Now I am training for an Assistant Manager Position. I was fast tracked and sent on a trip to Toronto for training. Ultimately, if you work hard the company will support you and help you advance.

      Cons

      It's retail. Sometimes it is hard to have a life when you are working an ever changing schedule.
