Not everyone can handle change...

Pros

Wow! Based on the reviews I've read, you'd think this is a regular Fyre Fest (which it absolutely is not). Sure there have been a ton of changes with the company, as with any merger, but our leadership team has done a great job of keeping us informed and communicating changes and updates on a regular cadence. Anyone who disagrees clearly doesn't read their email or attend all-hands meetings. It's true, things aren't the way they used to be when the companies were separate (and much smaller!), but change is inevitable, and if we're not changing then we're not growing. The company numbers are VERY strong, and the major initiatives are groundbreaking for the industry. I'm excited to see where things go.

Cons

Part of the change is having to work with teams that literally used to be your direct competitor. This can be challenging at times, and this was particularly challenging within the first month of the merger, but every week things get better and better as our teams learn to work with one another.

Pros

The Knot and WeddingWire merged at the end of last year. Some people view change negatively as it is not how things were. Personally, I'm super excited to see where things go. These are the two most widely recognized brand names in the wedding space coming together and I foresee a ton of opportunity ahead for a lot of employees here. Naturally, there is a bit of unknown and stabilization that needs to happen (as needs to happen for any huge business merger) - and it's going to take a bit of time. I feel like both companies had pretty similar company cultures before merging (if you read old Glassdoor accounts for each). The culture is super modern, casual, innovative, work hard/play hard mentality. Lots of cool amenities in the offices that make it a fun work environment. The nature of our business is positive and uplifting which I think does trickle down to the employee base (or at least to most employees). There are always going to be negative and positive reviews on a company based on an individual's personal experience and their specific role/department, but I've personally loved my time here, the people here, the perks here (catered food, unlimited PTO, hair salon & speakeasy in the DC office as well as amazing views / space in the NY office, events outside of work, etc). The people you meet and friends you make here are honestly a huge bonus as well. I see myself at this company for a long time to come.

Cons

Things are stabilizing right now - you have to be a bit okay with the unknown and not having all of your questions immediately answered. Also, not all roles/departments have super outlined career paths in terms of promotions - it varies role to role.

Change is tough but it also provides a lot of variety! We agree that this merge has opened up a door for many opportunities as a business which also makes it an exciting time to be here. Luckily, both cultures were already awesome, so that makes transitioning a bit smoother and we’re better together. Thanks for your patience as we stabilize and we look forward to sharing many experiences ahead !

Great perks, must be willing to work hard

Pros

Great culture, cool people, work from home, fully paid maternity leave, unlimited pto. A really great place to learn tech and advertising sales to kick off career growth.

Cons

Turn and burn environment. One bad month can put you on the chopping block. Must be willing and able to go above and beyond if you want to work here to receive the perks. Managers are not held accountable to team performance and always seem to get promotions simply based on tenure.

Thanks! Our culture and work-life balance is definitely something that is important to us. We are all expected to work hard to achieve our goals - they are very ambitious; however, we like to think of it as a work hard, play hard approach. Since our integration, we’ve started a Learning & Development program called TKWW U, a mentorship program and more. Thanks, again, for sharing your feedback and for being a part of our story.
