Pros

the people you work with and the kids are a delight, I've never had a problem with anything or anyone and I loved them all like they were family.

Cons

I was fired for going to the doctor's when I had a doctor's note that they chose not to acknowledge, telling me to see a specialist for the problem I was having within days of my hospital visit.

Pros

The families are very friendly and welcoming. The teachers and supporting staff are, for the most part, helpful and courteous and willing to help out a new hire whenever possible. The front desk secretary is wonderful and always running around tying to help people out, even when she is sick. The pay starts off lousy, but progresses.

Cons

The managerial style is abysmal, at best. The previous director was friendly and proactive, but the current director cannot be found. On the rare occasion when she is in the office, she is not willing to help the staff or the clients with any issues they might have. On several occasions when she should have been manning the front office, the area was abandoned, leaving children and parents waiting outside while whichever teacher was around tried to help out. She keeps the place underemployed, and if she feels that teachers in a room are becoming too familiar with one another, she separates them. There is clearly a sense that she would like the staff to be as uninvolved with one another as possible, which then affects the relationship between the teachers and their students. This is particularly a shame considering the previous director held such a strong stance on community within the school. Parents often refer to her as cold and unfriendly, while the staff is clearly feeling abandoned and unjustly penalized.
