Pros

The Outreach Team is serious about fighting for progressive causes such as the Climate Crisis and racial and economic equity. Other jobs I've had in this line of work are far less committed to making impactful change, and often do what they do at the expense of their employees. While TOT is not perfect, they're always working to better their policies to make sure all employees are treated well and taken care of.

Cons

Organizing is often very hard work and not a job for everyone. If you're not deeply motivated by the issues they're working to address it is hard to be successful and keep motivated.

Pros

Loved my team and directors. Campaigns are very impactful and the framework for winning is very clear. All tools are provided, from software to money to thank volunteers who are so important to the campaign.

Cons

Too be really effective, you have to work nights, weekends...a political campaign does not wait.

Hi, thanks for leaving a review! We say often, (as I'm sure you know) that in this work we can only be as good as the people we have working for us. That's why we put such an emphasis on hiring good people and treating them well. With that in mind, it is still campaign work and comes with incredibly busy seasons and slower seasons. However, we are working to make that reality less daunting by setting up our alumni with a jobs listserv and keeping them connected to our ever growing work.
