Pros

The only pros I have for this company are some of the amazing people I have met and developed life long friendships with, I started with the company back in 2017 as "fashion copywriter" at 23 years old fresh out of college and desperate for work. I was so excited to have found a job in my field but that excitement died out so quickly when I soon came to realize that I hopped on a slave ship. The hours were ridiculous, we were to start our days at 8:30am and were not allowed to leave unless the team goal was met, there were times where we would hit our individual goals but would have to sit around and stay way passed our scheduled time due to the team goal not being met making the work home life balance almost nonexistent. On top of the unnecessary long days, we would have mandatory overtime at the end of the month. They would try to win us over with bagels, pizza, free food, and pay incentives that they did not start until they got exposed several times btw. My first week there, they pulled us all into a meeting and told us that we have to work for 7 days straight due to the backlog and that it was absolutely mandatory. I must admit, my leaders at the time were great because they would actually get in the field with us at times and help us process units so we can hit those numbers, which is something I cant say about my last leaders when I entered the high risk department.

Cons

As for cons? I can go on and on, I already mentioned a lot of cons in the pros but let me get straight to it. I moved up within the company and ended up in the high risk authentication department located in Perth Amboy New Jersey. When I first started the team was small and they were going through some structural changes( they're always going through changes but everything remains the same) This is the point where I realized I no longer had a future with the company. Everyone was sooo competitive and the leaders contributed to it because they would enable it and they also had a rift amongst each other so if the leaders aren't getting along with each other it makes it difficult for the whole team to have a good example to follow, it became a very toxic and hostile work environment, literally like high school. Gossiping, bullying, favoritism, gatekeeping, racism, microaggressions and micromanagement every horrible thing within the work environment under the sun was displayed. Managers were allowed to come in late but if you were 10 mins late, one of their minions would report it to them and they would put you on blasts but its only okay for managers and their favorites to be late. It got to the point where waking up to show up for work became unbearable because I didnt know what I would be getting in trouble for that day. People in leadership that cant even authenticate would accuse you of working on 'easy items' when we had to work in FIFO order so we would literally work on what we were trained on and what was there and when even product handlers are the ones who hand out the product they would still throw those wild accusations around. It's almost as if as if you weren't kissing up and laid low and did your work they put a target on your back or they had a hard time believing that maybe you're that good at your job simply because they aren't so good at their jobs themselves so they would project. The authenticators are overworked and underpaid, no way should a single person getting paid 45-50k a year be responsible for pricing items, setting the condition, performing quality control, authenticating and taking microscopic images of the items. Thats literally like 5 jobs in one role. On top of that they set these ridiculous quotas that are sometimes unreachable depending on the product flow and if they believe the items you're working on are considered 'easy' when they can't even do it themselves (haters!). Managers gossip about people, they fill each others head about someones character and act on it rather than seeing for themselves and forming their own opinions. Even though I have moved on from this company, I feel like I have to go to conversion therapy so that the horrors that I witnessed and experienced first hand throughout my time there can be long forgotten and a faded memory. I am praying for this companies downfall. They have been exposed on the news and media so many times I'm really surprised that they are still standing or haven't been bought out by a bigger company yet. If you're there or about to go there, get whatever you need from them experience wise then LEAVE fast, and while you're there keep applying for jobs, keep interviewing, keep your resume and portfolio sharp cause lord knows what is gonna happen to this company.
