Nice place to work if you are there to make the world better rather than to make a lot of money.

Pros

If you stick with it and do a good job, they reward those who prove themselves. There is also the fact that you are working for the best and most efficient charity in America and the people here are mostly very nice - it's like family. Some of my favorite people are here and we got some crazy uncles and aunts that we all put up with. Working for a Christian organization is great, also. Great benefits.

Cons

The leadership turns over a lot which leads to mixed goals and unclear visions at the detailed level. Big picture stays the same, but how that is actually put into action gets fuzzy. Because the donations come and go it leads to feast and famine budgeting. Not so great pay compared to the for - profit sector.

Pros

I feel like I am helping people. Is the place God wants me to be.

Cons

Administrators not always qualified. They are there first as ministers. Many times have no business skills, yet they run the place. Is also an organization that puts the ministers first. Chances of them siding with you a mere employee over a administrator/officer are slim

Pros

People care about fellow coworkers, generous time off, flexible if asked. The benefits are good: tuition reimbursment, sick days can be carried over, etc. Management will genuinely help with work/life balance and have a good open door policy should you have a concern. Opportunity for travel occassionally is another perk.

Cons

A bit too much Management. But over all, great people, can't complain. There were not enough promotion openings, but some people were able to make some good financial jumps when they moved up that they may not have necessarily been hired for had they not worked a lower level job there.
