Pros
Flexible schedule and labs seem to be small and not super busy like industry. Good for someone who has a PhD or is a student. Not good if you have no research and just industry.
Cons
If you have no experience in research and doing experiments it will be stressful. You will be let go if you don't provide good results from the beginning. Graduate students talk behind your back on your performance and no feedback given on performance only until a warning letter is given by surprise. One to two weeks top to change or you will be let go and not be given opportunities to improve in lab. Not worth the stress for low pay. Watch what you do because people can be shady especially if you're the only one with a bachelors degree. Ive never in my 6 yr experience in lab have gotten bad performance. No one cares on your success its all about the funding and you can easily be replaced. You're on your own learning the science. I expected better from an academic lab. Is a shame how academic labs are not organized and structured like industry. Never applying to academic again.
