Pros

Fantastic, encouraging place to work, full of ambition and commitment to telling stories that matter to readers. As one of the best news organizations in the world, you should absolutely take any chance you can to work here.

Cons

Like a lot of large companies, it can be a lot about who you know and which top bosses support your career. I was lucky to have strong mentors, but I saw other great reporters fall through the cracks because they weren't as social with editors.

Pros

- Dedicated people, from top to bottom, committed to the broader mission of journalism - Culture of innovation and experimentation, especially with Bezos ethos infused throughout the organization - Focus on employee development

Cons

- With limited growth can come limited opportunities for development and career pathing - Still some vestiges of consensus-based decision-making can slow down some projections
