Pros

- Passionate founders - Meaningful product - Many smart engineers who are a pleasure to work with - Bleeding edge technologies in many aspects

Cons

- Lack of diversity (90% engineering staff are Indian males), recruiting efforts doesn’t help. - People who lack management skills being put i to middle managing roles on merit and seniority, not leadership ability. - Work life balance is non existent, many late nights and weekends. Especially hard during pandemic for employees who are parents. - Product team focusing more on adding features instead of fixing known issues and empathize on the core value feature, the search. - Lack flexibility in engineering culture. Engineers often has little say on what they want to work on. Managers just assign stuff without discussion.

Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts with us. We are always striving to improve our employee's experience and direct feedback from employees is essential to that. We are definitely focusing on how to expand our hiring efforts to invite a broader and more diverse pool of candidates. This will not happen over night, but we are committed to this effort. I am currently recruiting for a Global Talent Acquisition Leader who will help us on that journey. If you are at all open to connecting with me directly to discuss any of the other concerns you raised, I would love an opportunity to learn more from you. All the best to you!

Pros

The product delivers value as advertised as long as you have a clear use case.

Cons

I would advise against joining. I worked at ThoughtSpot for a long time, your opportunities are extremely manager dependent. Upward advancement is a joke, a walking contradiction, unless you pass the vibe check. I encountered so many cliches around being poorly managed, alongside weirdly abrupt pivots in scope... culture is a work in progress for a 12 year old company.... things went downhill after recent acquisitions.

Pros

The pay is really good

Cons

Easily the most chaotic disorganized work environment I’ve ever been a part of. Turnover is high which has lead to no linearity in process. Everyone marches to the beat of their own drum and scrambles to get things done quick and right one time with no repeatability. Data inaccuracies are by far the worst I’ve seen in any business. Work life balance is non existent because of how inefficiently the business operates 12 hour days are necessary just so you don’t fall far behind. Culture is toxic hardly anyone gets along. I would only accept a job here if you’re fully prepared to triple your stress level and decrease your happiness for the payoff of a slightly bigger back account balance.
