Pros

This company is lead by visionaries who have taken a company public in the past, so there is experience at the helm. I have joined this company as we are just starting to formalize processes around recruiting, training, onboarding and many HR functions. So things may be a bit bumpy sometimes, but for someone who thrives in a start-up, "Do what needs to be done" environment, this is the place you can bring what you know, share and use what you know, and make an impact to the growth and therefore the bottom line. The result is an environment that is evolving and always changing to be better in everything we do. I joined to be able to do just that- bring my entire career's experience here to build something from the ground floor at a time when it is needed, appreciated, and urgent.

Cons

This company is just starting to formalize processes not just in HR but in other areas as far as adapting to being a virtual workforce etc. COVID was a curve ball for all which like in many companies world-wide forced an adjustment in strategy not liked by all. However, they have emerged focused and motivated, and realizing now is the time to build certain functions and practices now that they have weathered the storm. But in any start-up, things may be a bit bumpy sometimes as we continue wrapping our arms around certain processes, discovering what works here and what does not. This means frequent changes but always with improving the motivation. For some, this can be a rough ride. Probably not for those out of organizations with long-time defined processes and workflow. This can cause extra steps and inefficiencies that are temporary as we establish, train and follow our new processes.
