Great opportunities in a fast paced environment

Pros

Thru is a great place to work. The environment is relaxed and emphasizes getting things done rather than filling a desk for a certain number of hours. At the same time, the startup atmosphere of the company means that work is fast-paced and energetic, which I like a lot. There are great opportunities to learn and grow in any department of the business. If you are willing to work smart and hard you can go a long way here including promotions and pay raises. Also, the CEO has an open door policy and encourages any employee to talk with him about any issues, so you have a voice as an employee here. Time-off is generous and can be taken at any reasonable time. Breakfast is provided on Fridays and lunch as well on occasion.

Cons

Some people may not like the fast paced environment or the hands off approach of management. Working here definitely requires you to be a self-starter, which can be hard for many people.

Pros

Nice building with friendly building management.

Cons

I deeply regret accepting a job at Thru. Lee Harrison, CEO, promotes completely inept, unqualified employees and gives them VP titles based on personal relationships and family friendships rather than actual skills, people management experience, or know-how. Aforementioned unqualified "managers" provide zero feedback, guidance, or timely, constructive comments about progress on projects or work performance. Instead, you receive completely useless and flagrantly snarky, unprofessional instructions and comments. The company is disorganized, with no clear vision or objectives regarding the product roadmap or direction of marketing collateral. Top-down communication is appalling, which is surprising, considering the entire company amounts to fewer than 15 full time employees, most of them all in the same tiny office where joy and happiness go to die. I can’t imagine that they are hiring new employees due to the utter lack of growth, sales, or competitive edge, but consider yourselves warned. Accepting a job at Thru is like boarding the Titanic.

Really we are still here and you are not. While no one is perfect at hiring no one that judges so harshly could have a clue about how it works at any job. Sorry it didn't work and you didn't mess with the terrific not perfect staff.

Incompetent Management

Pros

The office is located in Irving.

Cons

Maybe they had their day when the cloud was new to companies but there has been no growth and no expected growth. The good people are laid off on a regular basis, especially anyone that may be a threat to the façade that management is competent. I'm just buying my time until I relocate.
