Pros

Great company culture at legacy TiVo. Very flexible work hours and telecommute options (in agreement with your manager). Very open and supportive first- and second-level management

Cons

Changed company culture after being acquired by Rovi in 2016. Lack of vision for combined company since Rovi acquisition. CEO announced several months ago that he is pursuing one of 3 possible options: 1. Let TiVo acquire another company 2. Be acquired by another company 3. Make TiVo a private company This impeding change combined with the lack of vision makes it very difficult to motivate people.

Pros

Great product and a few good people are still there. Salaries are usually high.

Cons

Rovi took over in 2016 and the company is not the same old TiVo. The moral is very low now. Many of the employees are waiting for the new direction. Rovi took over in July and since then there has been a few lay-offs. The rumor is, they will lay-off many more people. Many managers are only there because they are really good making themselves look good. TiVo sales are dropping.

Pros

You will meet some of the most dedicated people in some departments, in a few offices. Friendships for life. TiVo has some great low paying jobs in India and Poland, its probably cheap to live there and this is a cost savings for TiVo. Working at TiVo over a long period of time will slowly grind your will down so that you no longer care about delivering outstanding or informed work. This is great because all your energies can be spent on family and friends! You'll no longer care!

Cons

TiVo does not care. Customers be damned. Employees be damned. If you enjoy participating in self serving meetings for upper management's ego, this is a great place. If you enjoy seeing colleagues' moral diminish over time, this is a great place. If you like working with self inspired management who are fresh out of any clue, then this is a great place to work.
