Pros
I can only comment on the Boston Analytics R&D office: Health Insurance benefits are pretty good. Lot's of free food, beer, etc.. Talented and caring co-workers.. There are a lot of brains in the office but no egos. The people in our group work on interesting problems that range from Optimization and Machine Learning to the latest Big Data, Java, and Front-End tech. People are easy-going and like the work they do. We all feel a sense of pride when we ship a new product or release. The Fort point office is really nice and close to south station commuter rail and subway.
Cons
Some times, the deadlines can be tight and the amount of work can be crazy. But this is the industry we're in. Upper management needs to know that we have lives and families to go to as well. Some of the VPs are divorced from the amount of effort we put into getting things done and may not understand the amount of work needed to get a specific feature out the door.
