Pros

Job security because they're too understaffed to fire you, okay health insurance, the skills you gain with various softwares and operating systems can be applied to many different industries. If you see a job listing, it means they're dangerously understaffed, so if you interview well and have experience in tech, customer service, or call centers, you're pretty much guaranteed the job.

Cons

Do you like being micromanaged? Is it your dream to have half your PTO denied for lack of coverage, and then lose it at the end of the year? Have you always wanted to be guilted for taking a sick day, and then bombarded with texts and calls to make up the time on your day off while you're trying to rest and get well?? Then TierPoint is the place for you! Forget knowledgeable colleagues and effective management! Who needs professional communication? Want proper training before taking calls? Too bad! Think everyone should be expected to do their jobs? Ridiculous! Wondering how someone can be so useless and get promoted? Join the club! Between people not pulling their weight and management being able to FO whenever they want, you will often feel like you're the only person working. And even when the other people on shift are actually trying, they weren't trained sufficiently, so you're stuck fixing their mistakes. Team leads are perfectly capable of taking calls, but they're too busy watching your screen and asking stupid questions while you're trying to work to actually step in and help. Turnover is insane, leaving the whole team understaffed and overworked. Leadership should be picking up slack instead of harassing everyone else to work overtime. They allow petty annoyances to dictate how they treat members of their team, going so far as to ignore you until they want to micromanage. Employees are NOT treated equally. Policies vary based on state laws/location, so even though you work the same hours and do the same job, you might not be treated as well as people in another office. With the recent addition, there are now 3 HDS locations and only one is in a state that has a law protecting earned PTO. Due to the company's inability to retain staff, PTO gets denied for lack of coverage, and you end the year scrambling to use your remaining hours, only to lose $100+ of wages you earned. Other (pre-pandemic) inequalities include: occasional on-site massage therapists, catering 2+ times a month, and contest prizes of gift cards or a free meal at a restaurant. All at one location, while the other got none of these perks and had to read all about it in Teams. The company's responses to negative reviews on here all state that they want employees to reach out to HR, but all of these problems HAVE been stated to HR, who then gives you a non-answer about the reasons for the policy and nothing changes. The company is aware of all of these issues, but it's easier and cheaper to keep things the same, hire new people once they get down to a skeleton crew, rinse&repeat.

Pros

You will learn so many different pieces of software from all of the different clients. You will get experience troubleshooting technical issues over the phone and remoting in. You also get access to Udemy Enterprise, where you can take courses that would originally cost money for free. This may help you get certifications like the A+, Security+, etc. Full time benefits come from Cigna.

Cons

Pay is too low for the amount of clients they expect you to work. You will be short staffed very often because the outreach for new hires is so minimal. You are working well under what a competitive wage would be, so you should really only be working here to get experience and work somewhere else. Or If you desperately need insurance.

Thank you for your feedback and the specifics you provided for focus areas within HDS. We appreciate the platform that Glassdoor offers for feedback and candor, and believe it serves as another outlet for our team to connect with our employees. We are always regretful to hear from former Tierpoint team members after they have left our team because we so gladly welcome the opportunity to have confidential and transparent conversations in real time with our employees regarding challenges they are facing. Nonetheless, we do appreciate you sharing and we will continue to use the feedback on this page to spark and create positive changes.
