      You'll learn a lot but company leadership is very poor

      Pros

      - You'll get used to working really fast (the same output that would take you a week at a competitor, you'll learn to do in a day at TikTok). - Company doesn't use email or make Google slides / PPT - saves a ton of bureaucratic time. Focus is on IM, and creating simple docs. - Very young people are trusted to lead teams and manager-of-managers, much younger than you would see at a FAANG company

      Cons

      -Pay at TikTok seems to be less than competitors across nearly every single role. - You'll work longer hours at TikTok than other companies - You'll often be expected to work weekends - Leadership is poor; specifically Sales leadership and Product leadership. Sales leadership tends to be very micro-managey. Product leadership seems to be unreceptive to feedback from non-product teams.

      Extremely fast paced and a lot of autonomy

      Possibly the wrost professional experience of my life, and I spent 10 years at Amazon. All the app is trying to do is be Amazon, so if you're excited to just go and do everything Amazon does, go work there. It's extremely common for people to work 12 hour days and well into the evening (10 or 11pm) because every team interacts with China employees in some way, and they do NOT accommodate US employees. You are fully expected to accommodate CN employees, even on Sunday when it's their Monday. Don't let the $$$ ruin your personal life balance. They do not care.

      They say its 5 days a week in the office in the UK it isn't - in the US you are expected to be in the office 5 days a week, in the UK you aren't - I have seen colleagues put in the RTO app anything HR don't check anything and are non existent - so if your in the UK well done you get to wfh - even some colleagues who spend more time in the US then they do in the UK and have said they cant come to the office although they spend more time in the US office, than they have done in the UK physical office Excellent sick leave policy

      Big Friends club, have had team members say they are moving to the US and then back track - been a bout a year of this limbo - but again its fine as they have been at the company for two years, and flirt with leadership.
