Freedom to do your job. Satisfaction in making people happy. Got to know your stuff though. Not for the novice game tech but opportunity abounds.

Cons

Can get boring sometimes. Just like any other job. Need motivation but you have freedom to motivate yourself. Just depends on the type of person you are. Self motivated? Or need direction?
