Pros

One of the best companies I've worked with! They are very flexible and will accommodate if you're looking to add to decrease your hours. Also working with the kids is a huge plus!!!!

Cons

Not their fault but hours aren't always set. You're working around the parents/guardians schedule so in any event they can cancel the session thus loosing some income.

Thank you so much for your feedback! Here at Total Spectrum, we know that in order to provide the best services to our kiddos, our team has to be made up of the best people. Our overall goal is to achieve an environment that allows the clients we serve to reach their maximum potential and highest level of independence. We could not do that without you and all that you do! Thank you as well for providing some insight and feedback to how we can improve. We're always striving towards excellence and taking a look at how we can continue to improve overall in every element within the company. Although we cannot control every outside aspect within our families' and therapists' schedules, our team of Client Service Coordinators do their best to let our therapists know of any cancellations as soon as possible as well as try to schedule make up session if both the family and therapists' schedules allow. As our team continues to grow, we will continue to work and improve this aspect for each of our therapists. We appreciate each and every piece of feedback. Thank you for all that you do!

Pros

Working with the kids and seeing them grow is the only good part. At best it’s an ok job for college students to gain experience in the field. This job taught me that I don’t want to work in ABA.

Cons

It was uncomfortable. I sometimes felt like programs were training kids to appear non-autistic or “normal” and just to repeat robotic phrases. Being brand new I always felt uncomfortable around my BCBA and felt like I was a burden if I asked questions. My BCBA also constantly talked down on other therapists and even parents. I felt thrown into therapy sessions with little training except for watching tons of long videos. The hours were unpredictable. I was given a client outside my preferred driving radius but I had to accept or only work 5-6 hours a week. There was only a short window to submit milage and the form was sometimes sent at random times and this easily gets lost in an email inbox. At my first session the client hit me unexpectedly and I felt totally unprepared for what to do. I worked here for less than a year and overall the experience was unorganized and anxiety inducing from beginning to end.

Pros

Pay for mileage over 30 miles a day Good way to get some experience Good job to have while in school, flexibility.

Cons

Not a ton of hours Constant training even after you are certified Occasionally clients will cancel their session and you will not get paid for that session. Therefore, money isn’t consistent. Haven’t received a raise yet and have been working about a year

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your experience with Total Spectrum. . We're always striving towards excellence and taking a look at how we can continue to improve overall in every element within the company. Here at Total Spectrum, we are dedicated to providing high quality services for our clients and their families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We rely heavily on our training program and pride ourselves in the continuous education opportunities we have available for our employees to better improve the quality of care for all of our clients. This is why we provide the training for all of our therapists to go on to receive their RBT Certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The RBT Credential signifies a higher standard of care to clients and can ensure that therapists are providing the most effective treatment possible. We then have continuous training opportunities for our therapists that is required by the BACB to keep up on their RBT Certification. All of the training that is required of the position is listed in our offer letter document that is provided and signed by all employees here with Total Spectrum. I'm sorry to hear you've had some abrupt changes to your schedule too. A lot of our schedule changes are related to family requests and our families sometimes have changes in their availability that will impact a therapist's schedule. We do work hard to schedule make-up appointments, however, this is not always possible due to our families'/therapists' schedules. We also provide yearly reviews for each of our employees which gives each employee an opportunity to discuss both short and long-term goals with their supervisor.
