Decent pay for part time gig

Pros

They pay decent Can give additional hours/clients if desired

Cons

Only paid for client facing time, which means if you arrive at work on time and client doesn't you are working for free which is illegal but they don't care. They will work you 7 days a week and not care about your well-being, they only care about their bottom line. Since merging with Learn their policies have become more confusing and no one knows what is going on. Merger has not been a smooth one. If family cancels on you then you don't get paid. For some clients this happens more often than not so you better have a back up plan to pay your bills.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your experience with Total Spectrum. We're always striving towards excellence and taking a look at how we can continue to improve overall in every element within the company. Here at Total Spectrum, we are dedicated to providing high quality services for our clients and their families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We rely heavily on our training program, which is a requirement for all of our therapists to go through. If we do have any kiddos who may be more physically aggressive, our team will always reach out to our therapists first to see if they would feel comfortable joining their team. It is not mandatory for any of our staff to join these teams if they are uncomfortable. In addition to making sure our staff is aware of any aggressive clients, we also have each of our therapists who will be joining these teams go through additional training called QBS Training before they are even introduced to these kiddos. This training allows for our therapists to learn different ways of how to respond and de-escalate these behaviors, as well as learn how to best move the body and hold the body in the most comfortable way making sure that any one involved is being safe. I'm sorry to hear you've had some abrupt changes to your schedule too. We do work hard to schedule make-up appointments, however, this is not always possible due to our families'/therapists' schedules. Our team of Client Service Coordinators let our therapists know as soon as possible of any cancellations. If our staff ever arrives to a session that is cancelled, each therapist will still be paid for the first hour of that session. We appreciate any concerns to be directed to our HR Department as we are always looking to improve our practices.
