Pros

You can get basic benefits through them with united (it is not great), you will learn quite a bit about random stuff. If you want a real job with them you will be offered a job in Tennessee, if that's your thing (TSC is a multi billion dollar conglomerate who does not care about the thoughts or feelings of their employees)

Cons

This company in an effort to modernize has taken many steps to increase the amount of services offered by the company without giving proper support to their floor workers. Every month seems to be a new expectation of increasing our workload despite not having the resources to do so. This is lauded as "convenience for the worker and customer" but in reality it only will make life worse for you as an employee while customers demand more and more from your ever scarce time. You will be constantly accessed via an earpiece which makes your managers able to call you at any time and will constantly chirp in your ear. This is borderline unbearable at times when several things get called and it creates a huge amount of confusion due to it only being answerable and not query-able. You cannot have it repeat itself most of the time, and it will only say it once. Good luck if a customer decided to speak over the basic store cacophony, you're now having to add to the level of volume by calling everyone on the team so they can tell you what you missed. Sales goals are arbitrary and are dialed in to such a point that the bonus you are promised at hiring will not be seen unless you work in a city based location Metrics that need to be met for customer retention, credit cards, and reward sign ups. These numbers are checked and you'll be constantly reminded of how you need more. Customer is always right attitude creates a very toxic workplace when you encounter bad customers. Management often simply caves and does close to nothing in these scenarios making you feel powerless. Corporate WILL side with customers 100% of the time. My job is considerably more difficult and complicated than it was when I started in 2019, but I see less bonuses due to the sales goals being inflated regularly to maximize shareholder profits. Oh, and expect to be quizzed by your district manager if they ever stop in. This job feels like it's highschool without any of the fun. Pros

Office has nice amenities and good employee discount.

Cons

Note: This is from the corporate office perspective - the in-store employment experience may vary. TSC culture is overrated to the point where leadership does not want to hear any negative feedback. Senior leadership berates teams in front of third-party vendors in order to drive unrealistic deadlines. The worst experience I have ever had in a 30-year career and, by far the most unprofessional senior leadership team. This is a company that got extremely lucky during the pandemic because they were declared "essential" and they have been taking credit for that good luck ever since. The corporate culture and vaunted "mission and values" are overhyped. Most of the leadership does not live these values and are not held accountable for their poor behavior. I went through 16 interviews and then was offered a different job than the one to which I applied. This should have been a major red flag.

Pros

There's always something to do, I learned something new everyday, I get to play with animals here and there, interpreting for customers that cannot speak English is very fulfilling.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid, employee preference and favoritism, wage is barely livable, lack of communication, lack of room to grow.
