Pros and Cons of being a Crew Member

Pros

Heath Benefits available for part-time work. Casual work environment. Good teamwork and camaraderie. Attracts an eclectic group of people which makes the job interesting.

Cons

Physically very difficult job. Involves standing all day. All crew members are expected to do everything including mopping floors, gathering carts, stocking shelves, breaking down boxes and working in cramped freezers for lengthy amounts of time. Because of space constraints job can often be dangerous with boxes falling on you. Storage area is particularly dangerous. Also must be able to smile constantly and satisfy the most demanding customers.

Crew members are fun. You can set your own availability.

Cons

Terrible leadership. They ignore you when you try to advocate for yourself or communicate any emergency/concern that’s going on in your life. They also tend to target and bully some crew members while favoring others.

20% off food Sunday pay (good luck getting it, when you do prepare for the anxiety attack and being in a store so full the fire department could shut it down any moment.

Cons

I was sexually harassed for a year and no one did anything. The captain told me verbatim "I didnt read it" after i read it to him. Managers are tyrants. If youre not the favorite you will work horrible hours. when you get hired youll be expected to work at 4am or on the flip side youll stay untill 12 or later breaking pallets. 4am getting a delivery truck. Pay isnt worth it. dont do it. union busters teaming up with amazon and space x trying to destroy the NLRB
