Pros

IR is provides a great work environment and is probably the most fair company that I have worked for. It's an inclusive environment and they really embrace the need for work-life balance. The campus is beautiful and offers perks with ERGs and health and wellness programs.

Cons

There are lots of organizational changes which makes it difficult to establish solid relationships and prove your value as an employee to leadership. Still many people don't get opportunities for advancement because promotions are people in the good-ol-boy network as well as organizational "favorites"

Pros

Brand names, well engineered product

Cons

Could there possibly be more VP's than workers? Only politicians and good ole' boys get promoted. The rest get pointed at by the wavering 'leadership'. Monthly management at its finest.

Pros

The company is big so there are many opportunities that you can move around.

Cons

The management is a joke. Those guys are hypocrites and they don't even try to hide it. I think most employees know about it and that's why the employees are not working hard and that's why Ingersoll Rand, though is very big, is still a screwed up company. One example is that the company has a strict policy to control the flight expense: only when the continuous flying time is 10 hours or more can you fly business class - basically meaning that you can't take business class for flight from US to Europe. And of course it says this policy applies to EVERY employee. But if you have a chance to look at the flights taken by those senior VPs: all senior VPs simply ignore this policy and fly business class even it's a domestic flight. The CEO of Ingersoll Rand China flies EVERY flight in business class even the flight hour is only one hour. One employee, who knows those details told me like this: 9 out of 10 executives take business class whenever they want. And the last one doesn't take business class because he has a private jet. Well, if the company simply tells the employees that because those guys are senior VP/executives they can take business class. That's fine. But no, these guys told employees: oh, we've got to cut cost, it's for the benefit of the company. And they think employees won't know what they do?
