Pros

1, Exciting technolgoy with amazing patient impact. 2, Strong projection after device approval and IPO. 3, Very competitive compensation and health benefit. 4, Knowledgeable executive team and wave of new hires with talent and experience. Not unlike many other small company, it's a place for people comfortable with blurred roles and responsibilities, competing priorities and fast pace. It pays back with rewarding positive impact to patient, freedom to make decisions and execute and opportunity to grow.

Cons

1, Un attractive PTO if you had tenure before, no 401k match and unclear longterm incentive plan. 2, Still need to prove revenue track record and stock market success

Rewarding job and ambitious future

Pros

There's some exciting times ahead for Transmedics with the recent IPO and virtually no competition. Recently we've had a hiring spree to bolster all the teams with the staff they need to achieve the plans to grow the business into the future. The products are obviously quite interesting and complex which affords great opportunities to learn and expand skills that's difficult to match at other companies. Management is professional and cares about employees. Work life balance is great and nobody scrutinizes when you come and go as long as you get your commitments done. I've seen some pretty strong critiques of the CEO, but I can say that all of my experiences with him have been very positive. He's extremely ambitious with bold plans for the future and knows his employees on a first-name basis. I've also seen reviews stating that there's no room for growth, which doesn't match what I've seen. It can be dependent on what positions are open, which can be fewer given that it's a smaller company, but on multiple occasions I've seen management review internal talent before looking outside and have seen multiple promotions come from this. Many projects give opportunities to be creative and it's rewarding to see your contributions make more tangible benefits to the company. Fellow employees are helpful to one another and the talent level is above average. Some quirks here and there, pretty much the norm for most places. Employee stock purchase plan is being rolled out.

Cons

No 401k match (401k exists though) Sometimes there is pursuit of a perceived "need" or "solution" to a problem without fully understanding or respecting the complexity, time, or cost associated with it. Middle management needs to be more empowered to make more decisions as the company grows.
