Pros

-Multicultural environment -Some nice people to work with -Ticket restaurant voucher ( its existence though depends on the location) -Relatively easy work, due to the technology, almost everything is automized, except emails

Cons

I´ve been working here for too long time ( over 5 years) . Couple of years ago I changed department after working in Sales , hoped in Client Services I´d find the human factor I was missing from there, but I have to say there are all the same. Here are my list of cons focusing on my latest experience in Client Services department: - horrible middle management and millions of team leads/ people are working on their ¨team lead¨ goals so they feel entitled to tell you instructions despite they are not your managers - zero transparency on bonus system- you cannot even guess how much it will be in the next quarter, you cannot plan ahead and your manager tells the amount to you via ¨Whatsapp¨ just couple of days before payday -big turnover of staff- this is the biggest problem both in Sales and CS departments, most of the ppl escape from here finding better opportunities elsewhere, so you have to participate in the new hires´ training over and over again - they prefer to hire people straight from college so they can offer them the lowest salary and big hopes. Once you are settled down and have your own family, children, and / or if you do not show interest to be a Team Lead, you are discarded, non existent for them - in theory you can ask transfer to another location where TransPerfect has office ( they claim it´s the part of their office culture) so I almost have put this to the ¨pros¨ but I cannot, since it is a lie. The worse thing that they keep you in the belief you can get transferred so you work hard, but then when you are ready to pack, they just take it back! - Too much wasted money ( and time) on social events instead of giving you valuable incentives awarding your hard work - Managers are not chosen to be managers by their managing skills, in any level, any department - Managers are traveling all the time (intercontinental trips, mostly on non justified purposes ) but you are not given any traveling opportunity unless you are a team lead or showing interest to be one soon -in general unhappy people suffering form bad management -you receive millions of emails. Literally millions. This is something is still could not get used to after so many years, it is just insane! In the name of ¨transparency¨ you literrally will receive thusands of emails daily. Get ready you will be on many distributions lists and even those emails are not personally for you, they will be landing in your Inbox unless you rule them in subfolders but get ready for several Outlook crushes! -Not enough staff, big workload, many times frustrated /complaining clients - be careful as regarding promotion or transfer they do not give you anything written unless you fight for it.

Pros

Fancy offices Some good fish in the shark pool Free coffee

Cons

Unethical business practices. They love calling themselves the "largest translation company", but what good is that if you treat employees and linguists like dirt? Long hours with low pay No benefits unless you are a manager Annual raises are very low or non-existent (1-2% raise is standard) Frat house mentality among managers Salespeople bully the production staff and managers don't step in to stop it

Pyramid Scheme

Pros

You run your own book of business You're able to interact with clients flexibly (i.e. in-person, via email, over the phone)

Cons

Pyramid scheme - they keep the high earners high, and the low earners low. They do not train their employees to be managers - they simply make you manager if you earn enough money. You barely make any commission for the first several years. Terrible office culture - no respect for upper management.
