Pros

fun, young, interesting coworkers, convenient locations

Cons

the hiring model revolves around recruiting and exploiting recent college grads. new employees are overwhelmed with an impossible amount of work and horrible pay with the assumption that these young professionals don't know any better and won't stick up for themselves. turnover rate is extremely high - no one i met there was happy or planning to stay. absolutely terrible work life balance. i cannot stress this enough, if you are a recent college grad thinking about working for TP, know that they are only planning to hire you so they can run you into the ground with grunt work for as long as you can take it while giving you the lowest pay possible so that you aren't eligible for overtime. i'm warning you from personal experience to hold out for another job because this is not worth it.

Pros

- Due to extreme volume of work you will learn a lot very fast and will have to learn to handle certain responsibility and you will master your multitasking skills - Fairly easy to get a job right out of uni - Amazing colleagues from many different backgrounds - Nice office in a good location - After this job, every other job you will ever do will be easy, it really can not get much worse that this

Cons

This company will try to squeeze the most they can out of you. Salaries are incredibly low, promised bonuses are a joke (that will make you cry) and there are literally no benefits whatsoever. - Ridiculous amount of unpaid overtime (people often staying in office until 11pm and coming before 8am in order to be able to manage the workload). Over time is required and unappreciated. No respect for personal time. - Lots of stress and constant pressure from Sales, they treat you like you are trash and once you make a slightest mistake they will make sure to make you feel terrible and escalate you - You are required to negotiate the prices that company agreed with linguists to be fixed due to limited budgets - quantity over quality in everything - The was company treats its employees- you are just an asset and do not matter at all - extremely high employee turn over

Pros

The people are wonderful, and everyone is committed to the job. You get to work with people from all over the world. The company has offices in the top locations of every country it inhabits, and PMs can work out of these offices.

Cons

It becomes clear pretty early on, that this company hires mainly college grads who don't know they should expect respect, boundaries, and perks from the job. Employees are paid insultingly low salaries, and are expected to pay translators the same level of meager wages. The hours are terrible - 9 to 6 is the signed contract, but there are days you'll come in at 8:30 and won't leave til 9. You're on salary, so you don't get compensated for this, but the job needs to get done. There's always more work than can be handled, because the processes are archaically bad. Technologies are not properly utilized here to make things more efficient. TransPerfect runs a tight ship, and with the low salaries and extremely stressful conditions, there is extremely high turnover. This makes it even harder on the employees that stick around. There are many stories of people sleeping at the office on occasion, and offices "imploding" because all of the PMs quit at once. I could go on and on, but that's enough for now. Spare yourself the stress, and don't work here.
