Pros

- liked my coworkers, the ones that managed to stay - NY office location was convenient

Cons

- high turnover that seems to be normalized - low pay with no extra perks beyond basic benefits - outdated technology that always has issues. - not a wfh friendly company, even though there were covid outbreaks in the office weekly. - expected to use your own equipment if you do wfh. - even at the office, it was hard to get the equipment needed to do your job such as headsets and webcams - expected to work holidays in exchange for unofficial extra PTO days

Salary promotions are insultingly low

Pros

Fun employees. Only real redeeming aspect of the company is the people you get to work with are very fun and casual. If you move into upper management, there are annual summits in different locations every year. Next one is in Barcelona. A lot of opportunity to move up if you work nonstop to show your worth, or stick around long enough to become most senior bc people leave a lot. then they defer to you.

Cons

Pay is nearly un-livable for any working adult. Constant hand to mouth. Annual review/promotions are basically a slap in the face. Started 3 years ago at 42k and I currently make 48k after 2 promotions. Manager: "pay bumps are small but quarterly bonuses help make up for it." Q bonuses get larger with seniority. In my 3rd year they finally hit the 1k mark before taxes. yeah. made more money when I was a trainee on hourly.

Pros

The only good thing about this job are the people. I have met some incredible and hilarious people, but at the end of the day, we really got along because of how miserable we were at work.

Cons

Oh boy where to begin? 1) Your time and happiness at TPT is very dependent on who your manager is. You can either have a manager that trusts you and knows that you are competent at your job, or you get a micro-manager, which is the case 99% of the time (hope you're sensing a theme here). I was part of that 99% that had a micro-manager that wanted to know what I was doing every second of the day. They wanted to be CC'd on every email, expected me to work through lunch, and scolded me for tiny mistakes. I cannot tell you how many panic attacks I had because of this job since I was so scared to ever mess up. 2) You are expected to work 24/7 for a job that pays so little (another general consensus amongst all reviewers). Even if you are sick, you still have to be online "just in case!", or be forced to take PTO. Or my personal favorite, you can be told to save your PTO and just come in to work even if you are sick. TPT has not learned a single thing from the global pandemic - while most companies tell you to stay at home, TPT actually wants you in the office when you are sick!! 3) Everyone has major trust issues. You are treated like a child by everyone if you are new. Rather than trusting the employee that you hired to do their job, everyone watches every little thing you do like a hawk, and then they pounce on you when you make a mistake. Overall, I endured TPT as long as I could because I thought this was the norm wherever I decided to go to work. However, now that I have found a new job, the more I reflect on my time at TPT the angrier and angrier I get. I truly do not understand how they are able to get away with treating their employees so poorly. And it sucks that so many of us complain about the same things, yet it seems like nothing is changing.
