Pros

Good PTO accrual, partial 401k match.

Cons

Poor competitive pay, very little to no career path. Only ever felt like a job, never a career. There's no clear career growth path for those that don't want to be calibration tech's. And the "bonuses" are Amazon gift cards, a nice slap in the face in exchange for a year's worth of hard work.

Pros

Work/life balance, Benefits, PTO, Pay Rate

Cons

Behind the scenes, it's a free-for-all among lab managers. Quality between labs is inconsistent. Production pushes left me with the feeling that Transcat aims for quantity over quality. Technicians were highly encouraged to do a better job for the customers that had better contracts. The manager of my lab took advantage of state COVID-19 research and development grants to buy RF calibration equipment instead if purchasing them on the company dime during the peak of the pandemic in 2020. My manager walked around bragging about it. The equipment wasn't even set up by the time I left mid 2021.

Pros

Casual work environment and adequate benefits. Attempts are made to foster a fun collaborative environment at the headquarters.

Cons

No chance of advancement if you are a women. Job responsibilities are very regimented, doing anything outside your narrow job description is frowned upon. If a customer complained about service, management would go straight to the dollars that company generated. If it was below a certain amount, there was no effort made to solve the customers problem. Bonuses are tied to the company meeting certain benchmarks, but employees aren't told what those benchmarks are so they are powerless to help meet them.
