Pros

Rooftop terrace events, CEO made nice gestures on holidays to wheel around a cart full of pies and champange

Cons

Strange company culture, individual person is undervalued, leadership is toxic and out of touch with reality

Challenging / rewarding work. Fan of the culture

Pros

It's certainly not the easiest work I have done, but in a way I'm grateful for that. My confidence has grown thanks to the feedback from direct leadership and a culture deeply rooted in collaboration. Leadership is engaged and helpful but not micro managing. I believe we are all communicating and working better as a remote workforce. I know some companies struggle with that.

Cons

The summer can be tough, but they take a number of steps to compensate you, and not just financially. It's great to see teams working to help each other as things get busy.

Pros

I enjoyed working with many colleagues and clients. Most are selfless and willing to roll up sleeves whenever they can.

Cons

One day, without warning, I was asked to change my role at Transfinder (with a pay increase). It was made clear to me that termination was the only other option, though the Director and C-Suite executive did not explicitly state as much. After many years of supporting Transfinder products and clients, I asked for an explanation regarding the change. Was I not performing? Was there an issue with the overall team? If either of those reasons were involved, why would they still want to keep me as an employee (and give me a raise)? Their repeated response was "we want you to be happy". No metrics, internal/external complaints, or hard data was presented to back the decision. Some might call this "gaslighting". I quit less than two weeks after this ultimatum. This is what I got for putting my heart into a company for the last several years. Thanks, Transfinder senior leadership.
