      Travelers has no regard for loyal baby boomers & chooses to retain novices over employees with seniority.

      Pros

      Great co-workers. It is a good place for young college graduates who are entering the work force.

      Cons

      Most employees who have worked for Travelers for a long time are let go before being able to retire. Hardly anyone retires at Travelers, and those who have are not long-term employees. There is too much unwarranted micromanagement and negativity. The stress caused is unhealthy for most employees.

      The work life balance is good.

      Cons

      People who like working here love it. I don't understand why. Intelligence is conflated with familiarity. A reliance on contractors in India requires 7:00am standups. Leadership is constantly adopting new technical products because some SAAS CTO played golf next to some exec. But primarily, the hybrid arrangement is ridiculous. I work with literally no one else in St. Paul. Yet 3x a week I have to pay for childcare, pay for gas, deal with traffic, pay for parking, walk 15 minutes from parking while getting accosted by unhoused people, to sit in a long row of desks (not even cubes!) and have Teams conversations, while listening to other people screaming into their own Teams conversations. Then reverse the process to get home. There is no value in coming into the office, at least in St. Paul. Yet no matter how much feedback we give, some old white man says we need to come in to validate their investment in the building.
